Day 18

Today Walker had another calm day. Mommy an Daddy have decided that calm and stable are their new favorite words! This morning Daddy came by early, to see Walker before heading to work. Mommy wasn't too far behind so she could talk to his doctors during morning rounds.

The doctor said that Walker was about the same, an that none of the blood cultures had grown anything, but that wasn't uncommon an they were going to continue the antibiotics as planned.  They also continued his feeds today an they upped him to 2ml at 4:30 this afternoon.  They decided to gradually increase his feeds rather than going straight back to the 8ml he was on before, they said this would be easier on his tummy an digestive system! He did well with his feeds all day and even tolerated his 2ml this evening.  Also at his 10:30 feeding the nurse put a couple of drops of Mommy's milk on Walker's lips and boy did he LOVE that, absolutely precious!

Walker also got a new bed today, his old one was making funny noises and they were able to turn down his humidity because he is old enough now!
Walker had a visit from Gary and Susan Collins this afternoon! And Uncle David came back down to see the little guy an stay the night as well!

I was sent this link today and I really enjoyed reading it!  While it is a day late for Mother's Day, it really hit home with me.  This whole experience with having a child in the NICU is one of the hardest things I have ever done, but like it says in the link it's all a part of God's plan, not my plan!
